BLUE CHRYSANTHEMUM
This project combines the traditional onion pattern with contemporary design standards. Porcelain and textile are combined in the form of a coffee cup, a versatile tray and a placemat to create a harmonious product family. The shape is characterised by clarity and reduction. The decor translates the timeless elegance of the traditional onion pattern into the present day. The result is a homage
to the onion pattern, which is called the ‘Blue Chrysanthemum’.

PROCESS
Throughout the semester, ideas were developed, refined, and sometimes rejected, materials were tested, and concepts were honed. The process images offer a glimpse into the collaboration, the experimental interplay of textiles and ceramics and the journey toward the final designs.
